You notice a craps table with a few open seats. Which position should you take? That’s a matter of personal preference. Is there a beautiful man or girl playing by themselves at 1 end of the craps table? Which gamblers are using cigarettes? Which look tired? Who seem inebriated or awful? Pick a spot where you’ll feel the most comfortable.

I prefer wagering on the end, immediately next to the croupier. On the end, I do not need to worry about individuals on both sides of me. I do not prefer betting next to the stickman as I always seem to get in the way of them trying to get the dice or moving the stick.

After playing for a bit, you’ll get a feel for your favored spot. You do not have a pick when it’s packed. If you end up in an awful spot (e.g., an awful person is beside you), just move to a further free spot. If the craps table is packed, hang out until a person leaves and take their position. Be aware of a player "coloring up," which is a sign that she is departing, and tell the croupier that you wish to move into her seat. The dealer will then reserve that spot and not permit a new person to quickly take the spot. The dealer will gently ask the new player to shift to the location that you vacate. Obviously, when you switch positions, don’t forget to take your chips.

People near you can affect your feeling and entire betting experience. They can make it fun or horrible. You may get stuck next to a chimney like obese guy with awful body odor, or it might be a bevy of drunk chicks busting out of their halter tops. So, choose your spot wisely.
